A Silent Watch was held outside the Hancock County Courthouse on Thursday, September 7th, as volunteers helped bring awareness to Veteran mental health and suicide prevention by standing guard beside a flag-draped casket for 22 minutes at a time in honor of the 22 Veterans a day who die by suicide.
Tom Hiatt, a United States Army veteran, and his son, Wade Hiatt, proudly stood guard at the event.
Tom is the owner of Tom Hiatt’s Plumbing and Excavating, serving Findlay and its surrounding areas since 2007. He graduated in 2003 from MYPAS (a four-year plumbing apprentice school in Pittsburg). In that same year, he passed the Journeyman’s license test. A year later, in 2004, Tom passed and acquired his Master Plumber license.
He is a veteran of the United States Army after serving a six-year service from 1983 to 1989. He is married to wife Rhonda and a proud father to his daughters Tess, Emma, and his son Wade, as well as his stepson Jordan.
Tom is on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Onsite Wastewater Association and a member of the Ohio Water Well Association.
He has completed Norweco Septic Training and has a Class A Backflow Technician Certification from Ohio.
Tom is a Life Member of AMVETS Post OH-21, Pheasants Forever, the NRA, and volunteers with Flag City Honor Flight.
Tailey is vital to our financial viability. As our numerical wizard, you can always count on her.
A teacher of 32 years with Findlay City Schools, Rhonda attained her Masters +30 from Youngstown State University and the University of Findlay.
Rhonda manages our invoicing and accounting affairs. She works extremely hard with Tailey to ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Tom Hiatt's sister, Anette, is the voice you hear when you call the office! She is always there to help. She not only answers the phone but also handles all scheduling.
Anette has been married to her husband Jim for 40 years, is mother to Jessica and Joey, and Mimi to 6 awesome grandkids. She loves nothing more than spending time with her family.
Riley is our emotional support pup and Chief Safety Officer. He can sniff out trouble before it happens. He also inspects incoming packages for explosives and treats.
Tom’s son, Wade, is the future of Tom Hiatt’s Plumbing! He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Finance.
He loves to hunt and fish and loves to work to help people & provide great service.
Wade continues to train and attend conferences to further his knowledge of the trades. He has completed Norweco Septic Training and has a Class A Backflow Technician Certification from Ohio.
Mike has been a mechanical contractor for the past 15 years, specializing in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and underground plumbing, taking great pride in all of it.
Mike is a father of four and loves spending extra time outdoors.

Matt is married to Amanda and is a father to three. He is an OSU Buckeyes fan and enjoys watching his children play softball and baseball. His youngest son, Malakai, is autistic.
Matt also enjoys cooking. His favorite place to be is in the mountains.
Trevor graduated from Findlay High School in 2021 and loves the OSU Buckeyes. He likes hanging out with his friends in his off time.
Hobbies include working on automobiles & watching videos of plumbing jobs.
